7. Conclusions and outlook
According to the OECD report "Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development" published in April 2010
:
(1) More than 5% of operational networks (~1,800 networks) can handle IPv6 traffic. The rate of growth of IPv6 networks is greater than that of IPv4-only networks;
(2) Over 90% of operating systems are IPv6-compatible, but enabling IPv6 often requires action on the part of users. Only 25% of users can use an OS where IPv6 is enabled by default (e.g. Windows Vista or Mac OS X);
(3) 7 of the 13 root DNS logical servers have IPv6 entries;
