This paragraph gives an idea of the products available on the market. The inventory of solutions is not exhaustive, the aim being to show the variety of solutions available. It does not give any opinion on the products, but simply mentions a few features that continue to evolve.
16.1 Juniper Northstar
Northstar is Juniper's WAN SDN product. It is a PCE with a graphical interface for visualizing the network, LSPs and adding/modifying/deleting LSPs. A simulation module is also available (via a separate GUI). Northstar is based, among other things, on technology from Wandl (acquired by Juniper), well known in the world of traffic engineering. Northstar also offers multi-layer visualization.
