The classic architecture of an RFID system, as illustrated in figure 1 , is made up of three main components:

• an RFID tag ;

• an RFID reader ;

• a database, often referred to as the "back-end".

This database is used to list all the tags in the system, together with a set of information items associated with these tags. The information elements are specific to the application domain, and may include the location of an RFID tag, the price of the product carrying the tag, etc.
