1. Detection of TPA source maneuvers
The problem addressed here is that of detecting any maneuvering of the source solely on the basis of azimuth measurements, even if the observer is in MRU (a term also used by the Anglo-Saxons is zig detector ).
Firstly, the observer may have information other than angles to indicate that the source is maneuvering.
Examples
In undersea warfare, a rudder noise detected by audio monitoring indicates that the opposing boat is gybing. An increase in propeller speed means that the source is accelerating on a constant heading, which is a possible maneuver. Frequency evolutions can also easily be used to detect TPAF maneuvers (see...
