1.1 Description of a radar measurement
An active radar is an electronic system that emits an electromagnetic wave and measures the response of a scene to this signal. By studying the signal received, it is possible to characterize certain objects and environments in the observed zone.
We generally distinguish several levels of functionality, depending on the complexity of the processes implemented, or the radar's operating constraints.
