4. Expressions and instructions
C++ and C share a common syntax for defining expressions and instructions. We'll present it briefly here, highlighting the few differences between the two languages. Operators have priorities that specify the order in which the sub-expressions making up an expression should be evaluated. Furthermore, to force an evaluation order, it is always possible to group expressions by pairs of parentheses.
Expressions are made up of operations. Evaluating an expression produces a value. An operation is a treatment to be applied to the operands.
