4. The three service models
Three service models can be offered on the Cloud (figure 1):
Software as a Service (SaaS) ;
Platform as a Service (PaaS) ;
Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
These three service models must be deployed on infrastructures that possess the five essential characteristics listed above to be considered Cloud Computing.

This service model is characterized by the use of a shared application running on a Cloud infrastructure.
