A compiler is a complex piece of software that is the result of numerous scientific advances. It is made up of multiple tools that can be used separately.
6.1 Lexer / Parser
In particular, one of the historical difficulties of compilers has been the creation of techniques for defining a program's grammar and analyzing a program's source text.
Two basic technologies are used: lexical analysis and syntactic analysis.
