2. Wifi communications
Wifi (Wireless Fidelity) is a standardized wireless communication system designed to link a range of IT devices (computers, tablets, etc.) in a common network. The range is limited to around 300 m, and the autonomy of a device equipped with it is of the order of a few hours. In comparison, Bluetooth has a shorter range and a lower data rate than WiFi, but the electronic consumption of the device equipped with it is lower.
The Wifi logo is shown in figure 6.
Wifi communication cannot take place without the WifiManager class.
An instance of this class is obtained by calling the Context.getSystemService() function with WIFI_SERVICE as parameter.
