The C++ language was initially designed for the development of applications with high response time requirements. Its kinship with C made it popular with developers of such applications, who were able to migrate easily from C to C++.

There are many criticisms of C++, including :

• the absence of a garbage collector, which makes programming with pointers difficult;

• the implicit processing it generates without the application's knowledge (automatic conversion, assignment operator or construction by copying, for example);
