1. Real-time application architectures
The type of hardware architecture used to run a real-time application has a major impact not only on the application's software architecture, but also on the means used to temporally validate this system. Systems can be divided into two categories: centralized systems, running on a single chip, and distributed systems, running on a number of remote computers.
