The performance of new communication technologies should bring well-being to all those who suffer from a disability (motor, visual, physical or mental). With this in mind, disabled people, as well as elderly people suffering from isolation, should be able to access the means of communication and information. Regulatory bodies are working to ensure that standards in this new field really do facilitate the interoperability of personal assistance tools for access to information and communication.
