2. Uniform corrosion

This is certainly the most important form of corrosion. Firstly, it's by far the most frequent case, even if it's rarely the most dangerous. Secondly, this is where the three natural modes of corrosion resistance are expressed: chemical inertia, passivity and protective corrosion deposits.

2.1 Dissolution of bare metal

In a number of circumstances, corrosion products are sufficiently soluble not to precipitate on the metal surface, leaving free access for the liquid to any point on the metal surface. In this case, as shown in figure
