6. Generalized corrosion
Titanium is highly resistant in seawater, with virtually no corrosion rate (< 0.01 mm/year) up to over 200°C; erosion problems only occur above a fluid velocity of 8 m/sec or in the presence of sand, and titanium presents no problems in the event of cavitation.
