1.1 Aluminium corrosion

Although aluminum is a highly oxidizable metal with a very low electrode potential ( $E$ ° $({Al}^{^{3 +}} /Al)$ = –1.66 V/ENH), it passes very easily in aqueous media between pH 4 and 8 (figure 1 ).
