4. Glossary
chronoamperometry; chronoamperometry
An electrochemical technique in which a constant potential is
applied to a working electrode and the resulting variation in current
is measured as a function of time.
chronopotentiometry; chronopotentiometry
An electrochemical technique in which a constant current is applied
to a working electrode and the resulting variation in potential is
measured as a function of time.
convection; convection
Transport of matter in solution due to movement in the electrolyte.
A distinction is made between forced convection (solution agitation,
rotating electrode) and free convection (density gradient in the solution,
e.g. due to outgassing or local temperature variation).
