4. Conclusion

A wealth of experience and numerous studies have shown that improving the durability of reinforced concrete structures, even in very aggressive environments, requires compliance with a set of rules relating to :

  • the quality of concrete, in particular the suitability of its composition to the environment, its processing and curing;

  • coating, also adapted to the environment, but controlled on site (installation of wedging devices).

In the event of disorders, a diagnosis is required, including a specific inspection of the structure, a number of on-site determinations and sampling for analysis.

Lastly, repair methods will be adapted to the context (origin of disorders, probable evolution, location), accessibility and environment.
