9. Portland/geopolymer composite cement
Pyrament cement, mentioned at the start of this article, is a Portland/geopolymer composite in the proportion of 80 Portland and 20 geopolymer materials.
It makes use of the alkaline activation of clinker, while including the geopolymer's physico-chemical properties, such as rapid setting, high strength and absence of the destructive alkali-aggregate reaction. Indeed, in 1986, after the invention of the first geopolymer cement, the research team at Lone Star Industries, Inc. combined MK-750 metakaolin with the alkaline activation of Portland cement
