1.1.1 Interfaces between two media
Classically, the electromagnetic properties of the interface between two volumetric media depend on these two media. If we consider two homogeneous dielectric media and the interface separating them, an electromagnetic wave propagating in one of the two media and arriving at this interface will undergo reflection and refraction obeying the Snell-Descartes laws
