VEC
VEC is a technique for installing glass products—which form the
exterior envelope of buildings—by bonding them to a frame. The bonding
transfers climatic loads and, where applicable, the weight of the
glazing to the structural members.
VEA
VEA is a technique for installing glass products that form the
exterior envelope of buildings, which involves, for these glass elements,
at least one mechanical fastening device—whether point-fixed, through-fixed,
or non-through-fixed. The role of this device or these devices is
to transfer all or part of the weather loads, as well as any dynamic
stresses (impacts) and the dead weight, to the secondary framing and/or
the structure of the building.
