Industrial weaving: principle and weaving preparation

For dobby and Jacquard fabrics, there are three main production modes, depending on whether unbleached yarns are used (finished product known as "unbleached fabric") or dyed yarns – therefore not unbleached – (finished product known as "dyed woven"): sampling, small/medium production and large production. They differ in the length of fabric to be produced, which ranges from :

• 0 and 50 m for the sampling process ;

• 50 and 500 m for small and medium production processes;

• 500 and 2,000 m and more for the high-production process.

Generally speaking, taking into account the three main production modes and the various manufacturing stages, from yarn on a bobbin to fabric (dobby or Jacquard), the logical sequence is summarized in Table 1....
