2. Recycling techniques and associated markets
Used textiles can be recycled in a variety of ways:
reuse for a purpose identical to their first use;
closed-loop recycling, which consists of remaking textile articles from recycled textiles;
open-loop recycling, which involves developing new products using textile materials (insulation, wiping);
other forms of material and energy recovery.
