3. Economic outlook
Turning to the economic outlook, it should be noted that the COREX process stricto sensu consumes, as we have seen above, large quantities of coal and oxygen, but with good energy efficiency, and that it produces an equally large quantity of an excellent gas, averaging [4]:
and 10 to 70 ppm by volume of H2S.
This gas has a calorific value ranging from 7,000 to 7,500 kJ/Nm3.
