5. Finished product manufacturing techniques
Molybdenum can be shaped by bending, stamping, flow-forming, etc. The working temperature must lie between the transition temperature and the recrystallization temperature. A temperature of around 200°C is generally adopted for a thickness of 0.5 mm, 700°C for a thickness of 4 mm and 1,000°C for a thickness of 10 mm.
Shearing and cutting operations can be carried out at room temperature, up to a thickness of 0.25 mm; thicker sheets must be preheated according to the previous rule, to avoid delamination of the section.
