6. Conclusion
The techniques presented for anti-graffiti paints, varnishes and adhesives used in rail transport are the result of research and development. This means that not all the varnishes considered were selected as a result of this work. The majority of adhesives, on the other hand, meet the required anti-graffiti properties.
The varnishes that met the technical objectives of these developments were waterborne anti-graffiti varnishes. These will be used for train maintenance on large surfaces. Powder varnishes, designed to protect interior parts, also achieved their objectives.
Sacrificial varnishes give good results, but are intended more for anti-graffiti protection of buildings.
The anti-graffiti effectiveness of UV curing varnishes is good, but this process requires specific and costly installations.
