6. Surface analysis
For surface analysis, the controller can choose between several methods, including glow discharge spectrometry 6.1 and scanning electron microscopy 6.2 . Only glow discharge spectrometry (GDS) can provide a concentration profile from a few nanometers down to around 150 µm. This method is particularly well suited to surface inspection of parts after coating or surface treatment.
