6. Surface preparation
The essential condition for the success of an electrolytic coating is to apply the coating to a clean surface.

The particles are removed by immersing the substrate in an ultrasonic bath for several tens of seconds to several minutes, often consisting of a chemical degreaser, but also during electrolytic degreasing.
The ultrasound frequency will be carefully selected based on the size and complexity of the substrate, as well as its fragility.
