In addition, the pigments, ground into the resin, play a vital role in ensuring consistency of color from one production run to the next, as well as in the resistance of lacquered products to external light.
The most common resins are polyesters, epoxies, acrylics and fluorinated resins. These resins, whose costs vary, are adapted to the application.
For normal outdoor exposure and indoor use, polyester is suitable; if the atmosphere is more severe, a primer (polyester or epoxy resins) can be inserted between the metal and the finish.
