PVC is the second most widely used thermoplastic after PE, thanks to its extremely high quality/price ratio, the diversity of its properties, and its durability. Two synthesis routes are used: emulsion and suspension processes. PVC has an amorphous structure and therefore no defined melting point. Nevertheless, notable changes in behavior are recorded at around 170 ˚C.
