6. Synergies, antagonisms
If a stabilizer effect can be expressed in terms of a time (e.g. induction time), it is in principle possible to quantify the effects of combining two stabilizers A and B, provided that the time in question is always determined for a constant fraction (mass or molar) of the stabilizer mixture in the polymer. As the determinations are carried out for several blend compositions, the diagram shown in figure 5 can be constructed.
