3.1.1 Summary
Ethylenediamine (EDA) is dissolved in methanol under magnetic stirring, then methyl acrylate (MA) is added dropwise to the (ethylenediamine/methanol) mixture. The mixture is stirred for two days at room temperature. The reaction is continued under stirring for 1 h at 60°C, 2 h at 100°C, 2 h at 120°C and finally 2 h at 140°C, while applying a high vacuum, yielding a viscous yellow product named "HB(MA-EDA)1".
