5. Compound manufacturing

Compounds are manufactured using a conventional extrusion process. The professional's know-how lies in the choice of extruder type, whether single [17][18] or twin [19] or other equipment such as Buss Co-kneter (a specific type of extruder) or multi-screw extruders; but also in the design of the screw profile, the choice of metals used for cylinders, screws and cutting tools.
