4. Conclusions and outlook
The process developed concerns the synthesis of all-polymer conductive composites. The material is obtained in an aqueous dispersion process and consists of "core-shell" particles, where the core is a polymer matrix and the shell is an intrinsically conductive polymer of the polyaniline type. These controlled-architecture particles are synthesized in a single step in a non-polluting, low-cost environment. The technology was patented in 2005, before winning the French Senate's "Tremplin Recherche" competition in 2006. Composites have all their properties at the end of the reaction (mechanical strength, conductivity, etc.), with no post-formulation stage. Conductive and mechanical properties are variable and adjusted according to the requirements of the targeted applications.
