Stimulable polymers are defined as polymers that exhibit relatively large and abrupt physical or chemical changes in response to small variations in an external stimulus caused by changes in environmental conditions. Stimuli-responsive polymers are also known as stimuli-responsive polymers, smart polymers, chip polymers or environmentally-responsive polymers.
