Microwave and high-frequency polymerization

The industrial development of the use of dielectric hysteresis heating was masked and covered by the development of domestic use of microwaves from the 1950s onwards, creating a very wide diversity of uses or situations where it was thought desirable to implement this technology . The polymerization of composite materials was also affected by this development.

The description of the examples of industrial applications presented here is limited to two objectives:

• determine the suitability of dielectric hysteresis heating for specific material properties and transformation parameters;
