3.1 From eco-design...

According to the standard ISO 14006 , the eco-design of a product (i.e. a good, service or system) must include environmental protection right from the design stage. The aim is to reduce the product's environmental footprint throughout its life cycle (i.e. from the extraction of raw materials to its end-of-life, via the stages of manufacture, distribution, use, etc.).
