3. Specific polymer degradation and stabilization
As we discussed earlier, each polymer may encounter one or more particular modes of degradation, depending on its chemical nature or that of its additives, and the particular environment in which it finds itself during processing or service life. For each degradation mode, a more or less complex type of stabilization is possible.
Examples of thermal stabilizers are shown in figure 15 and photochemical stabilizers in figure 16 .
