13. Conclusion
The rotational molding process makes it possible to manufacture
complex polymer parts of large capacity with very economical means.
It is present in practically all industrial fields. There are different
types of rotomolding machines, carousel, rock and roll (throw), back
and forth.
Significant progress in this technology has been made in recent
years in terms of improving the performance of machines, molds, control
systems, automation.
Different polymers are used for the manufacture of industrial
parts, in particular polyethylene (nearly 85 %), but also polyamides,
polypropylene, PVC, polyurethane, etc. However, this industry must
be able to use other thermoplastic polymers or copolymers, but also
thermosets, elastomers, blends, filled polymers, biopolymers. This
is essential for manufacturing high-tech parts. Consideration should
also...
