The purpose of standard NF EN ISO 18265 (June 2004) is to describe hardness conversion strips and their rules of use. The Vickers hardness scale is used as a reference, as it covers the entire hardness range of steels. These conversion bands apply to metal alloys, for products with a homogeneous structure and a thickness greater than 2 mm.

The standard also provides the correspondence between hardness measurements and R _m breaking load. It should be noted that this correspondence depends on the materials.

We won't reproduce here the numerous curves and tables contained in the standard, but simply give a few correspondences (table 10 ).

The
