When trying to model precipitation kinetics, we are generally interested in describing the parameters that most directly influence the desired properties, in particular the average precipitate size (radius
), often its size distribution function
and precipitate number density
.
From these two parameters, we can deduce the volume fraction and residual solid solution content, by conservation of the quantity of solutes, provided we know the composition of the precipitates well enough....
