5. Equivalence with foreign standards
Many grades are used with their foreign designation, particularly American grades for certain categories of cold-work tool steels, hot-work tool steels and high-speed steels. It is therefore useful to know the correspondence tables between European, American and Japanese standards, to help users with their equivalence problems. Tables 18, 19, 20 and 21 give these equivalences where they exist for :
unalloyed steels for cold working ;
alloy steels for cold working ;
alloy steels for hot working ;
high-speed steels.
