3. Stability of MOFs
The porous, periodic hybrid structure of MOFs is the key to the properties of these solids. It is therefore essential that this structure be maintained during the defined operating conditions. MOF stability is therefore a key parameter. It cannot, however, be defined as something absolute and depends on the conditions to which the solid is exposed. MOF stability can be classified into three main categories: chemical, thermal and mechanical.
