The charge introduced into the furnace consists of scrap metal, steel offcuts sorted according to their chemical composition, ferroalloys (ferrochromium, ferromanganese, ferrosilicon) and pure metals. This charge also includes quicklime, the purpose of which is to form the slag that will fix the phosphorus in the form of lime phosphate.
