7. Conclusion
Hyperelastic behavior models are well established: their theoretical foundation is solid and they are widely available in structural design software. The choice is wide enough to meet the needs of engineers. However, relevant use of these models requires :
an informed choice of model in terms of mathematical complexity and number of material parameters;
sufficient and varied experimental data to identify material parameters;
a good understanding of the numerical difficulties associated with this type of model.
As these models form the basis for more complex models of elastomer mechanical behavior (viscoelasticity, Mullins effect, etc.), their mastery is essential for the design office when dimensioning elastomer parts.
