LSR silicones are still used in 3D printing today. They are preferred to HCRs thanks to their low viscosity, enabling transformation or shaping without high stress.
Polyaddition crosslinking (figure

) is the change-of-state mechanism used in LSR and HCR silicone elastomers, particularly for medical grades. They are often referred to as "platinum" because of the catalyst used.
