INTRODUCTION
Like polyethylene (PE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and polystyrene (PS), polypropylene (PP) is a widely used thermoplastic. Its production accounts for over a fifth of total plastics output.
Its exceptional development over the last few decades is due to a constant improvement in industrial manufacturing processes, to its interesting properties including its melting temperature (130 to 170 ˚C), to the possibility of widely varying its properties by copolymerizing it in different ways and adding fillers and reinforcements.
Polypropylene is used in almost all sectors, particularly in packaging, the automotive industry, household appliances, sanitaryware and textiles.
