The following properties can be cited:

• extremely high maximum permissible operating temperature in air (220°C continuously, up to 260°C for short periods) ;

• high mechanical strength, rigidity and creep resistance, even at elevated temperatures;

• excellent chemical and hydrolysis resistance;

• excellent wear and abrasion resistance ;

• very good dimensional stability ;

• physiological inertia (suitable for food contact) ;

• excellent resistance to high-energy radiation (gamma rays and X-rays);
