5. Phosphorus-containing flame retardants
The range of phosphorus-containing FRs is considerable and has grown considerably, not least to provide alternative solutions to halogenated FRs, which have been banned or withdrawn. This range of products features a wide variety of chemical structures, mainly organic and inorganic phosphates, phosphonates, phosphinates, phosphine oxides and red phosphorus.
