Ion detection in gas source mass spectrometry is based on four inseparable components:

• the ionization yield of the species analyzed at the Nier source. This is low (a few percent) and depends on the setting of the source parameters seen previously (U ₁ , U ₂ , U _moy , U _R , I _trap , U _trap , etc.) and on the presence of other particles likely to compete with the analyzed element by capturing all or part of the electron flux emitted by the filament;

• the transmission efficiency of the ions produced in the source to the collector(s) via the flight...
