6. Appendix: LRL calibration technique
The LRL (line – reflect – line) calibration technique is based on mathematical models adapted to real-life physical conditions.
6.1 Using line connections
Using the properties of chain matrices, it is possible to determine the parameters of the line quadrupole produced by cascading the error quadrupoles a and b defined by their respective matrices Ra and Rb respectively. If Rt is the resulting matrix in the presence of the line:
